PDO Threads Face Lift

What happens to my skin as I age?

In order to better understand how a non-surgical face-lift works, it’s helpful to understand the forces at work in aging skin. As you age, your skin’s collagen production naturally slows, leaving you with skin that doesn’t bounce back as readily. Over the years, the well-worn paths of your facial expressions begin to become permanent lines as your skin loses its elasticity.

Gravity also weighs in as your skin begins to sag, especially when the thin layer of fat below the surface of your skin begins to migrate downward without the support of healthy collagen to keep it in place.

Finally, years of exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays causes your skin cells to break down more rapidly, leading to prematurely aging skin.

What is a non-surgical face-lift?

In traditional face-lifts, the surgeon cuts the skin around your hairline and draws your skin taut, removing any excess tissue. While effective, this surgery doesn’t come without risk and a lengthy recovery period.

A non-surgical face-lift relies on laser technology to renew your skin from the inside out by creating a collagen response that rebuilds the tissue beneath the surface. The laser energy passes harmlessly through the surface layer of your skin in order to tackle the cells deep inside your tissue, restoring the healthy foundation your skin enjoyed during your younger years.

What are PDO Threads?

PDO threads are synthetic dissolving surgical sutures used to temporarily lift and tighten areas. The suture is composed of polydioxanone a biomaterial that is safe for to use in the body.*

How does the tread lift work?

The suture threads are strategically placed under the skin and pulled in either one or two ways. The threads have a special grip that pulls and lifts the area. Over time the thread will begin to get absorbed by the body. After the thread dissolves, collagen will replace the thread's place.*

How long do PDO threads last?

The PDO threads effect can be seen for up to 5 years. Since skin continues to see a breakdown of collagen cells. We recommend coming in for a follow up after the first few months.

What can I expect from the procedure?

When you come in for the procedure, a numbing cream will be placed on the treated area. Once the area is numb, our practitioner will begin by placing the thread through the skin. After the procedure, your skin will be slightly swollen but noticeably lifted. Expect full results within a few days.

Am I a suitable candidate?

A suitable candidate for a PDO thread lift is an individual that wishes to temporarily firm and tighten areas that have started to sag.
